PCMC’s Ambitious Housing Project: 938 Houses to be Constructed under ‘Pradhanmantri Awas Scheme’

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is set to embark on a significant housing initiative by constructing 938 houses under the ‘Pradhanmantri Awas Scheme’ for the economically backward class (EBC) residents of Pimpri-Chinchwad. To facilitate the application process, the municipal corporation has launched an online form on its official website. Interested individuals can access and fill out the form from 28th June 2023 to 28th July 2023. However, applicants must submit specific documents to the municipal corporation within this timeframe, as they will be subject to verification before the final list is announced.

According to officials, the houses will be built in Pimpri and Akurdi, with specific allocations for different categories. These allocations include 50 percent for the open category, 13 percent for SC (Scheduled Castes), 7 percent for ST (Scheduled Tribes), and 30 percent for OBC (Other Backward Classes). Additionally, a special reservation of 5 percent has been designated for individuals with disabilities. The scheme’s primary eligibility criteria include filling out an online form on the official PCMC website, residency within PCMC limits, belonging to the economically backward category (with a family income below INR 3,00,000), not owning a concrete house anywhere in the country, and individuals who had previously applied for the Charholi and Ravet projects but were not allotted a house are now eligible to apply for this project.

To apply for the scheme, interested individuals must visit https://pcmc.pmay.org between 28th June 2023 and 28th July 2023. The municipal corporation will thoroughly assess the eligibility of each applicant during this period. The application fee for the project is INR 500, which can be paid online. Additionally, applicants are required to pay a deposit of INR 10,000 through online mode. The deposit and application fee can be paid once the applicant has uploaded all the necessary documents, including Aadhar Card, PAN Card, and others. For those applicants who are not allotted a house, the deposit amount will be refunded to their account by the PCMC. It is important to note that the original copies of the uploaded documents will need to be presented if the applicant’s name appears on the final list. A comprehensive list of the required documents can be found on the official website.

The Municipal Commissioner reserves the right to make any changes to the terms and conditions of the scheme. Therefore, it is crucial for applicants to thoroughly read and understand all the terms and conditions before proceeding with their applications. Anna Bodade, Assistant Commissioner of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, emphasizes the importance of carefully reviewing all the details and requirements stipulated in the scheme to ensure a smooth and successful application process.
