PCMC Takes Decisive Action: Demolishes 2 Lakh Square Feet of Unauthorized Construction

In a significant move to curb unauthorized constructions, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) demolished a staggering 2 lakh square feet of illegal structures within its jurisdiction. Pradeep Jambhale Patil, the additional commissioner of PCMC, affirmed that this crackdown on unauthorized construction is part of an ongoing initiative, emphasizing the commitment to maintaining the city’s planning norms.

The enforcement action targeted the D ward, focusing on constructions from Nashik Phata flyover to Sai Chowk, Jagtap Dairy road, accounting for 1 lakh square feet. In a broader sweep across the eight ward offices under PCMC, unauthorized buildings, and temporary structures, known as “patra sheds,” were razed, covering a total area of 2 lakh square feet.

Pradeep Jambhale Patil urged citizens to refrain from leaving vehicles unattended and cautioned against the unauthorized display of banners, flex, posters, or any other illegal activities. The civic body’s commitment to preserving the city’s architectural integrity and adherence to regulations is reflected in the continued efforts to dismantle unauthorized structures.
