PCMC Launches Free Healthcare Drive for Men under ‘Ayushman Bhav’ Campaign

Pimpri Chinchwad : In a significant move aimed at improving healthcare accessibility, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has declared that medical consultations, treatments, and diagnostic tests will be offered free of charge to males aged 18 years and above in PCMC hospitals and clinics. This announcement is part of the broader “Ayushman Bhav” campaign initiated by the Central Government to ensure affordable healthcare for all citizens. The decision was officially sanctioned in a standing committee meeting presided over by PCMC Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh.

The meeting, held at the esteemed Mayor Madhukar Pavle Hall in the primary administrative building of PCMC, witnessed Commissioner Singh approving various developmental projects. Among these projects are the establishment of a Biodiversity Park Reservation at Talawade and the creation of a Digital Smart Room at PCMC’s Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Kasarwadi (Girls), aligning with the turnkey project.

The committee, composed of Additional Commissioners Pradeep Jambhale Patil, Vijaykumar Khorate, Ulhas Jagtap, and chief officers from various departments, also greenlit several essential initiatives. These include temporary appointments of directors on a consolidated remuneration basis, asphalt works in Vidya Nagar, Sambhaji Nagar, Shahu Nagar in Ward No. 10, and maintenance and repair works for water drainage in Wakad. The committee also sanctioned the laying of stormwater lines in Ward No. 24 Thergaon and daily cleaning and maintenance of public toilets in Ward No. 15 through mechanical methods and manpower.

Moreover, the meeting endorsed the leasing of space to establish generic medicine shops in municipal hospitals, repair work of tarmac roads in Municipal Ward No. 10 Morwadi, Morwadi village, and industrial areas. It also approved expenses for asphalting main internal roads in Ward No. 14, asphalting main and internal roads in Ward No. 10 Sambhaji Nagar, and the organization of various sports competitions for mentally retarded and differently-abled students in the Municipal Area for 2023-24.

In an effort to support sports development, the committee granted approval for providing grants for tournaments organized by the Association of Tennis Players and Women’s Tennis Association. Infrastructure projects, including the development of an 18m road from Moshi-Alandi Road to Group No. 212 at Ward No. 3 Dudulgaon, and the development of a 30m DP road from Group No. 75 to 137 at Moshi, also received the nod.

The meeting concluded with the committee approving the cost of renting space and providing other facilities for starting a medicine shop on the lines of Amrut Stores near PCMC hospitals.
