PCMC Launches ‘Cycle2Work’ Initiative, Encouraging Green and Healthy Commutes

In a bid to promote sustainability, ecology, and a healthier lifestyle, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is set to kick off its ‘Cycle2Work’ initiative, encouraging employees to cycle to work every Thursday, starting from March 7, 2024.

PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh took to social media, expressing the corporation’s commitment to sustainable practices. In a statement on his official handle, he said, “As part of our commitment to sustainability, ecology, and promoting a healthier lifestyle, PCMC is launching its Cycle2Work Thursday initiative. Starting March 7th, all PCMC employees will be encouraged to pedal their way to the office every Thursday. I too will be working towards doing the same every Thursday! Join us in embracing sustainability and leading by example. Let’s make our Thursday commutes greener and healthier!”

He further urged everyone to join the initiative, stating, “Join PCMC’s Cycle to Work initiative! Every Thursday, pedal your way to the office for a greener, healthier commute. Let’s reduce emissions and promote fitness together. Embrace Sustainability and Lead by Example.”

The Cycle2Work initiative aims to not only reduce carbon emissions but also promote fitness and a sense of community among employees. Participants are invited to gather at the PCMC Building entrance every Thursday at 9:45 AM for group photos with their cycles, fostering a sense of camaraderie and enthusiasm for the initiative.
