PCMC Cracks Down on Tree Banner Defacement, Files FIR Against Offender

In a determined effort to combat the defacement of city trees through the illegal installation of banners, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has taken a resolute stand against this environmental violation. Authorities are on a mission to halt the harmful practice of nailing banners onto trees, emphasizing their commitment to preserving the city’s greenery.

In the most recent action against this unlawful activity, the municipal corporation has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against an unidentified individual responsible for nailing illegal banners promoting Sainath Technical Institute and Yoddha Academy. These banners were found affixed to trees in the Bhosari MIDC area. The garden department officials of the civic body have initiated the legal proceedings by registering a formal complaint with the local police.

The Bhosari MIDC police have registered a case against the unidentified person under Section 3 of the Maharashtra Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, in conjunction with Section 14 of the Environment Protection Act. Subsequent investigations into the matter are currently underway.
