PCMC Commissioner Seeks Resident Suggestions on Leveraging Technology for Civic Infrastructure Improvement

Shekhar Singh, the Commissioner of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), has turned to social media, particularly X (formerly known as Twitter), to solicit suggestions from residents on how to employ technology and data science to enhance civic infrastructure work.

Through the official X handle of PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh, he expressed his interest in receiving comprehensive ideas and recommendations on how to elevate the delivery of civic infrastructure services in PCMC using cutting-edge technologies and data science. He believes that the next generation of technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced data analysis, holds the potential to significantly boost the efficiency of PCMC’s operations. These technologies can enable proactive measures, streamline planning and execution, ultimately benefiting both the city and its residents.

Commissioner Shekhar Singh stated, “As we step into this era of advanced technology, it’s crucial for us to proactively explore avenues to improve administrative services and address your concerns effectively.”

Netizens have responded enthusiastically to this call for suggestions. Some users have proposed updating PCMC’s Sarathi grievance system to resolve issues within a maximum of 10 days for each ticket. Others have recommended improving the user interface (UI) for a faster and more user-friendly experience. Additionally, users have suggested implementing a dashboard that displays different ongoing projects and their up-to-date status.

This move by PCMC to engage with residents and harness technology for infrastructure enhancement demonstrates a commitment to leveraging innovation to enhance the quality of civic services and address citizen concerns effectively. By actively seeking input from the community, PCMC aims to create a more transparent, efficient, and technology-driven administration.
