Ownership of NCP Party Office in Pune Contested by Ajit Pawar’s Faction

Pune, 8th July 2023: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is currently experiencing a division between the factions led by uncle Sharad Pawar and nephew Ajit Pawar, leading to a dispute over party properties, including the party offices located in various places across the state. However, the leaders of the Sharad Pawar faction have made it explicitly clear that the party office in Pune rightfully belongs to them, and no other faction can claim it.

Prashant Jagtap, the current city president of the NCP, has stated that the agreement for the property where the party office is situated was signed in his name, and he has been diligently paying the rent for it. Based on this agreement, he firmly believes that no one else can lay claim to the property.

This issue arose following discussions about Ajit Pawar’s faction’s intention to take over the party office in Pune. In response to these talks, Deepak Mankar, the newly elected president of Ajit Pawar’s faction of the NCP, has issued a statement acknowledging the existing property agreement and expressing their determination to secure a larger office space for the party in the city, surpassing the current premises.

Internal divisions within political parties often lead to disputes over party assets, with party offices frequently becoming a focal point of contention. As both factions assert their claims, it remains to be seen how this situation will be resolved and whether a compromise can be reached.

It is crucial for the NCP to engage in constructive dialogue to find a resolution that upholds the party’s interests while maintaining unity and harmony. The focus should be on serving the people and working towards their welfare, rather than engaging in internal conflicts that could potentially weaken the party’s position.

As the situation unfolds, party members and supporters will closely observe the developments surrounding the ownership of the NCP party office in Pune. The outcome of this dispute will not only determine the physical space of the party but could also have broader implications for the NCP’s image and influence in the political arena.
