MSEDCL’s Strategic Revamp: Bhosari Division Restructured to Elevate Pune’s Electricity Services

Pune, 18th October 2023: In a forward-looking initiative to enhance service delivery for urban electricity consumers in Pimpri Chinchwad, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has unveiled a strategic restructuring of the Bhosari Division. This transformation sees the division divided into Bhosari Subdivision-1 and Bhosari Subdivision-2, each committed to delivering more specialized and efficient services. MSEDCL officially announced this development through a circular issued on Tuesday.

Bolstering Service Standards

The creation of Bhosari Subdivision-2 entails the establishment of three branch offices, each equipped to address the unique requirements of consumers within their purview. With a total of 69 technical and non-technical positions being approved, this restructuring is anticipated to significantly elevate service standards.

Origins of Restructuring

The proposal for this restructuring initially gained traction when it was presented by local MLA Mahesh Landge during the state assembly session in July 2023. Subsequently, it garnered approval from Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Devendra Fadnavis, leading to the establishment of Bhosari Subdivision-2.

Benefits for Consumers

This restructuring endeavor serves a dual purpose: enhancing service efficiency while catering to the growing consumer base in the region. Bhosari Subdivision-1 will be responsible for serving Bhosari Village, Charholi, and Nashik Road branches, whereas Bhosari Subdivision-2 will encompass Indrayani Nagar (currently under construction), Moshi, and Spine City (currently under construction) branches. Concurrently, the Akurdi Subdivision will oversee the Chinchwad, Sambhajinagar, and Chikhali (currently under construction) branches.

In light of this development, a total of 12 new positions have been approved for the newly established Bhosari Subdivision-2, while 19 positions have been sanctioned for Chikhali, Indrayani Nagar, and Spine City Branches. These positions include executive engineers, assistant engineers, junior engineers, assistant accountants, and lower-level clerical staff.

Widespread Impact

Rajendra Pawar, the Chief Engineer of the Pune Circle at MSEDCL, emphasized that this restructuring will directly benefit approximately 2,70,000 electricity consumers. With the infusion of these 69 technical and non-technical positions, it is expected that all consumers will receive more dependable and efficient electricity services. This, in turn, ensures a smoother and more reliable power supply for urban areas across Maharashtra.
