Maharashtra’s Maiden Defence Expo to Witness Participation of Over 1,000 MSMEs in Pune

In a significant move to bolster micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the defense sector, the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and the Indian Defence Forces are set to participate in the inaugural Maharashtra Defence Expo scheduled from February 17–19 in Pune.

State government officials reveal that the expo, drawing the participation of a substantial number of micro, small, and medium businesses, is designed not only to support these enterprises but also to position Maharashtra as a hub for defense manufacturing.

Nibe Limited, a prominent defense company, serves as the knowledge partner for the exhibition, which will unfold at the Pune International Exhibition and Convention Centre.

With Maharashtra hosting various defense Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Ordnance Factories, and DRDO laboratories integral to the nation’s defense ecosystem, the state boasts a robust network of over 12,500 MSMEs.

The event aims to provide a platform for renowned business leaders, innovative startups, and dynamic MSMEs to showcase their skills and capabilities, fostering collaboration and unlocking substantial potential within the defense industry.

In addition to industry professionals, approximately 10,000 students from diverse Maharashtrian universities and engineering colleges are expected to attend the expo. This unique opportunity enables students to connect with business experts closely associated with the defense industry, offering insights and networking prospects that are valuable for their academic and professional growth.
