PCMC Offers Tax Concessions

Pimpri: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has offered various tax concessions for taxpayers till today, Friday (June 30). The tax collection department has decided to confiscate the properties of those who do not pay taxes by the deadline from July 1.

The tax collection and taxation department of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation is giving minimum ten percent and maximum 20 percent discount to the property owners if they pay the entire tax by June 30. Accordingly, so far two lakh 52 thousand 296 property owners have availed the benefit of various concessions by paying tax. Till now 334 crore rupees have accumulated in the coffers of the municipality.

As on 31 March 2023 in the city, the number of outstandings of more than ~50 thousand is 39,655. These property owners had tax arrears of Rs. 650 crores. To collect this tax, public awareness is being spread through SMS, calling, public awareness, hoarding and social media on behalf of the department. The Municipal Corporation has also decided to confiscate the properties of citizens who do not pay taxes despite giving concessions.

Tax payment of four thousand people

Due to the public awareness that has been going on for the past few days, 1 thousand 598 taxpayers have paid Rs. 11 crores. Two thousand 524 taxpayers have paid Rs. 27 crores. Out of 39 thousand 138 arrears, 4 thousand 122 citizens i.e. nearly 10 percent have paid the tax by responding positively to the appeal of the Municipal Corporation.

The seizure has been carefully planned from July 1. Jawans have also been made available for seizure. Two to three zones are combined to form an impoundment.
