As the culmination of the grand Ganeshotsav festival approaches, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have taken proactive steps to bolster security and guarantee a tranquil and organized Ganpati immersion process. Approximately 3,000 police personnel have been strategically stationed throughout Pimpri Chinchwad city to oversee the procession and safeguard public well-being.
In anticipation of the event, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have granted permissions to 1,934 Ganeshotsav Mandals operating within their jurisdiction. Among these, 1,086 are slated for immersion on Thursday, the 28th. Additionally, there are unregistered groups participating, contributing to the overall crowd size. The immersion ceremonies will be conducted at 89 natural water bodies and 10 artificial ponds.
Given the anticipated large turnout, the police bear the crucial responsibility of upholding law and order. Comprehensive strategies have been devised to manage the celebratory proceedings.
Proactive measures have been implemented to deter known criminals and enhance security. The police have also issued directives to the mandals regarding crowd management, noise levels, and overall safety. Furthermore, each group has appointed five representatives to closely collaborate with the police for streamlined coordination.
