Pune, 30th December 2023: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC) has taken a significant step towards community engagement and education with its innovative “One Day School” initiative. This proactive endeavor involves officers from the traffic branch mentoring students, emphasizing the importance of responsibility and citizenship.
The initiative, which unfolded on Thursday, 28th December, witnessed police officers visiting 20 schools and reaching out to an impressive 5,200 students. This concerted effort is part of an ongoing initiative where officers from the traffic department, constituting 20 teams, visit different schools every Thursday.
Beyond the traditional role of enforcing traffic regulations, the One Day School initiative covers a diverse range of topics essential for the holistic development of students. The interactive sessions provide guidance on road safety, traffic regulations, insights into accidents, the perils of addiction, understanding cybercrime, and responsible use of social media.
Over the past four weeks, the initiative has successfully reached 25,291 students, making a significant impact on shaping the mindset of the youth. As part of the awareness programs organized under this initiative, special attention is given to distributing the “Exam Warriors” book, authored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The overarching goal of the One Day School initiative is to contribute towards molding students into responsible and socially conscious individuals. By addressing a diverse range of topics relevant to modern-day living, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police seeks to foster a community that is well-informed and equipped to navigate the challenges of the contemporary world.
