Eco-Friendly Celebrations: PCMC’s Plan for Safe Ganesh Immersion in Pune

As the Ganeshotsav celebrations culminate, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has introduced an extensive strategy to guarantee a secure and environmentally conscious Ganesh immersion. This plan encompasses a spectrum of emergency services and initiatives for environmental preservation.

Commissioner Shekhar Singh has affirmed that prominent Ganesh immersion sites throughout the city are fully prepared for the festivities. The PCMC has stationed well-equipped ambulances, medical teams, lifeguards, fire brigade personnel, disaster management squads, and security forces at these locales.

The Municipal Corporation is unwavering in its commitment to ensuring a safe and joyous conclusion to this year’s Ganeshotsav while simultaneously emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation. Crucial medical supplies and medications have been stocked at key immersion sites, including Smashan Ghat in Kalewadi, Ganesh Lake in Nigdi Pradhikaran, and numerous others. These medical teams comprise medical officers, staff nurses, paramedics, ambulance drivers, and support staff.

In a bid to promote eco-friendly practices, the PCMC is collaborating with voluntary organizations for idol collection. Artificial immersion tanks and Nirmalya Kunds have been established at Ganesh Visarjan Ghats. The fire department has strategically positioned fire brigades at 26 immersion sites, equipped with essential rescue materials such as life jackets, rings, boats, megaphones, and ropes. Regional offices have also designated staff members to oversee the necessary arrangements at the respective Ganesh Visarjan ghats.
