Grand Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Tribute: 350 Dhols, 350 Tasha Vadans, and 350 Saffron Flags Unite in Pimpri Chinchwad; Traffic Diversions At Bhakti Shakti Chowk Tomorrow

Pune Pimpri Chinchwad – Pimpri Chinchwad City is gearing up for an extraordinary tribute to commemorate the 350th coronation year of the legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Dhol-Tasha bands from across the city and Maval Taluka, in collaboration with the All Pimpri Chinchwad Shiv Jayanti Coordinating Committee and the Dhol Tasha Federation of Maharashtra State Pimpri-Chinchwad Division, are set to orchestrate a magnificent celebration.

In honour of Maharaj’s 350 years of royal coronation, a spectacular display will unfold, featuring a whopping 350 dhols, 350 Tasha Vadans, and 350 saffron flags, all coming together in a harmonious dance of devotion known as Shivavandan, Vadan, and Shivastuti. This grand event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, the 16th, at 5 p.m., at the Bhakti-Shakti Shilp Group in Nigdi. Pimpri Chinchwad police have planned traffic diversions.

Sandeep Jadhav, the head of Akhil Pimpri Chinchwad Shiv Jayanti Coordination Committee, shared these exciting details during a press conference. Distinguished guests, including MP Udayanraje Bhosale, a descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and MLA Shivendraraje Bhosale, will grace the occasion as chief guests. Renowned actor and environmentalist Sayaji Shinde, along with the cast of the recently released Marathi film ‘Subhedar,’ will also be part of this unique celebration.

The rhythmic beats of dhols and tashas will resonate for approximately 35 minutes. The program’s festivities will kick off at 5 p.m., following the felicitation of dignitaries and their speeches. The organizers have taken meticulous measures to ensure the well-being of the dhol-tasha troupe members and attendees.

Following the event, the musicians themselves will lead a cleanliness campaign in the area. To minimize noise disruption, the organizers have ensured that the dhol and tasha performances will be within permissible decibel limits. Additionally, six designated parking lots have been arranged to accommodate the vehicles of guests, participants, and citizens attending the event, managed by a team of around 40 volunteers.

Traffic Diversions for the Grand Celebration:

In preparation for the grand event, traffic arrangements have been made to accommodate an expected crowd of 20,000 attendees. The Nigdi Traffic Division has implemented temporary traffic diversions in Bhakti-Shakti Chowk and the surrounding areas. These changes will be in effect on Saturday, starting at 2 pm and lasting throughout the event.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Branch, Dr Shivaji Pawar, has issued instructions for the following traffic diversions:

  1. Traffic from Dehu Road will be redirected through the grade separator flyover instead of Bhakti-Shakti Chowk, exiting in front of Rudra Parking.
  2. Traffic from Triveninagar Chowk will be diverted to the left at Bhakti-Shakti Bridge, passing through Tilak Chowk and under the Bhakti-Shakti Subway Bridge via Appughar.
  3. Traffic from Appughar/Ravet and Transport Nagar will pass under the Bhakti-Shakti subway bridge via Ankush Chowk, bypassing the Bhakti-Shakti Bridge.
  4. Traffic from Sambhaji Chowk to Bhakti-Shakti Chowk will travel through Tilak Chowk via Lokmanya Hospital at Bhel Chowk, avoiding the Bhakti-Shakti Bridge.
