Tragedy in Talwade: CM Shinde Announces Rs 5 Lakh Compensation for Victims of Factory Fire

In a tragic incident at Rana Industries in Jyotiba Nagar, Talawade, a factory fire claimed the lives of six women and left ten others critically injured during the manufacturing of sparkles. The Maharashtra Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, has swiftly responded by announcing a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the families of the deceased workers and assured coverage for the medical expenses of the injured.

Details of the Incident:

The explosion occurred around 2:45 pm, trapping 16 workers inside the factory. The manufacturing process involved the production of sparkling candles, a routine task at Rana Industries. The sudden explosion led to a fire, and the shutters of the factory closed, leaving workers trapped with no ventilation.

The fire department was alerted at 3 pm, prompting the arrival of six fire engines. Firefighters worked diligently to control the fire and rescue the trapped workers. The impact of the blast was severe, reflecting the horror of the explosion on the cracked factory walls.

Six women lost their lives on the spot, and ten individuals, one man and nine women, sustained serious burn injuries. The injured were rushed to Sassoon General Hospital in Pune for immediate treatment.

  10. Priyanka Yadav, 32/F (35-40% burn)

District Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh ensured immediate medical attention for the injured at Sassoon Hospital. However, the extensive damage to the faces and bodies of the deceased has made identification challenging.

As investigations into the incident continue, the Maharashtra government aims to provide support and relief to the affected families.
