Temporary Block on Mumbai-Pune Expressway: Traffic Advisory for Gantry Installation on Feb 23

In a proactive step to bolster safety measures, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has scheduled the installation of gantries on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The installation is set to occur tomorrow from 12 noon to 2 pm, with the designated location being at km 39/900 in the Borghat area under the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) project.

During this period, all traffic heading towards Mumbai on the expressway will experience a temporary halt to facilitate the seamless installation of grantees. This interruption applies to all types of vehicles, and heavy vehicles will be specifically diverted to the Urse toll road and the shoulder lane.

To minimize inconvenience for car commuters during the installation phase, an alternative route is advised. Cars are recommended to take the diversion from km 55 Lonavla exit towards Mumbai via Old Pune Mumbai Highway – Anda Point – Magic Point – Shingroba Ghat – Indira Chowk Khopoli.

Over the past few days, intermittent blocks have been implemented to carry out the installation work on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, causing some disruption for citizens traveling on this route.

Considering the daily influx of millions of passengers on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, with many commuting for work between the two cities, commuters planning to use this route are advised to avoid traveling between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM tomorrow. Alternatively, the road administration and traffic police recommend utilizing alternative routes during this period.
