Mumbai, Jul 25 (UNI) Veteran journalist and critic Shirish Kanekar died after suffering a heart attack in a hospital here on Tuesday. He was 80.
Kanekar’s condition deteriorated this morning and therefore, he was admitted to Hinduja Hospital in city. However, he died during treatment.
Meanwhile, upon hearing the sad news of his demise, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde paid glowing tributes to senior journalist Shirish Kanekar, saying that Kanekar who brought pure joy to millions of readers with his pen has been lost.
In a condolence message, he said that Kanekar’s death has caused a great loss to the art-cultural and journalism sector of Maharashtra.
