Samsung Redefines Retail with BKC Store: A Fusion of Online and Offline Shopping

Samsung, the South Korean tech giant, has introduced its first online-to-offline (O2O) store at Jio World Plaza, Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai. The Samsung BKC store represents a paradigm shift in retail, offering a seamless integration of online and offline shopping experiences. This store serves as a showcase for Samsung’s cutting-edge products, including the AI-powered Galaxy S24 series, and promises an innovative approach to consumer interaction.

Samsung has already established 11 premium experience centres in India, and the BKC store in Mumbai stands out as the first of its kind in the city. The store not only features the latest offerings available in India but also introduces exclusive innovations and products not found in other stores across the country.

Sumit Valia, Sr. Director – Head of Corporate Marketing & Direct To Consumer Channel, Samsung India, shared in an exclusive interaction with The Mobile Indian, “We plan to add four more such stores by February,” highlighting the brand’s commitment to expanding its retail presence. The BKC store, managed entirely by Samsung employees, differentiates itself with a unique integration of online and offline shopping experiences. Consumers can browse the digital catalogue, place orders for any product, including budget smartphones, and collect their purchases within two hours from the store.

Valia emphasized that the BKC store’s services and experiences are expected to be replicated in other Samsung stores across India over time, ensuring a uniform and enhanced customer experience nationwide.

The store’s overarching theme is “AI for All,” as articulated by JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia. He stated during the inauguration, “With Samsung BKC, we are not only expanding our retail presence in India, but we are also putting together a playground to bring AI experiences to one place.” The Samsung BKC store offers a holistic AI experience, extending beyond smartphones to include home appliances. This includes AI-enabled refrigerators that understand content and recommend recipes based on stored products, and washing machines that optimize laundry settings based on load and fabric sensitivity, all accessible remotely via the SmartThings app.

The Samsung BKC store features diverse experience zones, encompassing gaming, work-from-home setups, smart kitchens, and smart home spaces. Additionally, the store offers customization options for cases and accessories at no extra cost.

For those eager to explore the newly launched Galaxy S24 series, pre-orders are currently available at the Samsung BKC store. The venue also offers the opportunity to order online-exclusive color variants of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, enriching the consumer experience in this innovative O2O store.
