Raigad Irshalwadi Landslide: NDRF Base camp to be set up in Raigad dist – Ajit Pawar

Mumbai, July 24 (UNI) In view of constant natural calamities occurring in Ratnagiri, Raigad, and the Sahyadri mountain region in Maharashtra, the state government has decided to set up the base camp of the NDRF’ in Ratnagiri district, said Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar here on Monday.

Speaking in assembly, Pawar informed the house that the necessary follow-up will be taken soon in this regard.

Talking about the Flood situation, which is severe due to heavy rain in many places in the state, he said the government is keeping a close eye on every aspect by starting the distribution of free food grains with cash of rupees five thousand to every disaster victim in Irshalwadi village. We stand firmly behind every citizen in the state who is the victim of a natural calamity, said Pawar.

Deputy CM Pawar, while replying to the questions raised by the members in the House during Question Hour in the Legislative Assembly, said flood situations have occurred in many places along with heavy rains in the state. In this situation, the government is keeping an eye on every aspect. Instructions have been given to every district administration to be alert, he added.

Relief work is going on rapidly where it is necessary. Disaster victims are being shifted to safer places, arrangements are being made for their accommodation and food, and there will be no discrimination in relief work, Pawar said in the House of Assembly.
