Major Drug Bust in Pune: 101kg Methaqualone Seized, 5 Arrested

MUMBAI: In a significant operation, the Directorate Revenue of Intelligence (DRI) has successfully dismantled a drug syndicate, resulting in the seizure of a staggering 101 kg of Methaqualone valued at Rs 50.65 crore in Pune. This operation has led to the apprehension of five individuals believed to be associated with the drug trafficking network.

Acting on credible information, DRI officials swiftly moved to intercept a car bearing a Telangana registration. Upon inspection of the vehicle, authorities discovered four containers, each containing a white crystalline substance of blue hue. Rigorous testing confirmed the identity of the substance as Methaqualone, a powerful psychotropic drug.

The operation resulted in the immediate arrest of the two occupants of the vehicle, shedding light on the intricate drug trafficking web. Subsequent interrogation of the apprehended suspects unveiled the participation of three more individuals, all of whom were promptly taken into custody.
