Justice Rohit B Deo of Bombay High Court resigns

Mumbai, Aug 4 (UNI) Justice Rohit B Deo of the Bombay High Court on Friday tendered his resignation from office and announced the same in open court as well as also discharged the board consisting of listed matters for the day.

Justice Deo who is presiding over at Nagpur bench of the Bombay high court has apologised in open court and said that he has no hard feelings against anyone, and that he is sorry if he had hurt anyone said the lawyers who were present in the court room.

He has also adviced lawyers to continue working hard and apologised for being strict with them on certain occasions.

Justice Deo had recently passed two decisions in which he had stayed a GR pertaining to contractors of the Samruddhi Expressway and had passed an order in October last year acquitting Delhi University professor G N Saibaba who was sentenced for alleged Maoist links.

Justice Deo was appointed additional judge of the Bombay High Court on June 5, 2017 and was made a permanent judge on April 12, 2019. He was to retire on December 4, 2025.
