Thane – In a groundbreaking initiative, Maharashtra State Skill University’s Government Technical School in Thane is poised to host India’s inaugural Swachh Bharat Academy. The momentous agreement was formalized on February 14, as Maharashtra State Skills University and BVG – Bharat Development Group inked a collaboration deal in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
The Swachh Bharat Academy is set to offer a range of certificate, diploma, and degree courses, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s commitment to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. The collaboration involves key stakeholders, including Maharashtra State Skill Development Innovation Society, Directorate of Vocational Education and Training, Maharashtra Skill Development University, and Bharat Development Group, ensuring a comprehensive and integrated approach to skill development.
The academy aims to address the skills gap by providing specialized training aligned with the objectives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. By leveraging the expertise of Maharashtra State Skill University and Bharat Vikas Group, the initiative will not only equip the youth with essential skills but also create meaningful employment opportunities.
The signing ceremony, attended by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Minister of Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Department Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Industry Minister Uday Samant, Commissioner of Maharashtra State Innovation Society Nidhi Chaudhary, Vice Chancellor of Maharashtra State Skill University Dr. Apoorva Palkar, and Hanmant Gaikwad of Bharat Vikas Group- BVG, marks a collaborative effort to usher in a new era of skill development and employment in the region.
