Mumbai – The auspicious festival of Dussehra, celebrated across the state, symbolizes positive transformations in the lives of its citizens. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, in his message, encourages everyone to embrace the joy and warmth of this festival.
To ensure the state’s leadership in various sectors, the state government has set clear objectives and is making steady progress. Holistic development of the state remains our primary focus. Drawing inspiration from this festival, the Chief Minister emphasizes strengthening Maharashtra further.
“After nine days of worshipping Goddess Durga, we now celebrate Dussehra. On this tenth day, we worship wealth, knowledge, and devotion. This includes the worship of apta leaves (Bauhinia racemosa), books symbolizing Goddess Saraswati, and weapons. We often say, ‘Dussehra is grand, and there’s no limit to the joy,’ as this vibrant festival truly brings happiness to our lives. Dussehra holds significant importance in our culture,” says Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
He further adds that Dussehra symbolizes the victory over evil tendencies. It’s a moment to move forward, leaving behind negativity. It’s a day to achieve knowledge over ignorance, valor over enemies, and love over adversaries. Among the three-and-a-half auspicious muhurt, Dussehra is considered one. The Chief Minister also encourages everyone to initiate new plans and good deeds on this auspicious day of Dussehra in his message.
