MUMBAI: Dilip Dhole, the municipal commissioner of Mira Bhayandar Municipal Council (MBMC), who has been issued summons by the ED in connection with a money laundering probe concerning a Thane-based builder, has been transferred by the state government. In his place, Sanjay Katkar has been appointed as municipal commissioner of MBMC.
Sanjay Katkar was Joint MD of CIDCO. Dilip Dhole took charge as municipal commissioner of MBMC in 2021. Earlier he was working as addl municipal commissioner in the Thane Municipal Corporation. During the reign of the Fadnavis government, he was PA of the then urban development minister Eknath Shinde.
In 2020, he was appointed as addl civic chief of MBMC. During the corona pandemic, the civic chief of MBMC Balaji Khatgaonkar was transferred and Dhole had been appointed in his place.
