Bandra to Worli: Mumbai’s Coastal Road Takes Shape, BMC Showcases Significant Strides

In a significant update, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has shared the impressive progress of Mumbai’s ambitious coastal road project, a transformative initiative linking Marine Drive in South Mumbai to Kandivali in the western suburbs. Aimed at easing northbound traffic congestion, the first phase covering a 10.58-km stretch from Marine Drive to Worli is swiftly advancing.

Coastal Road’s Progress: The BMC, via its Instagram handle, showcased the aerial view of Mumbai Coastal Road (South), announcing a commendable 82.51% completion. The drone footage offers a captivating glimpse into the ongoing transformation, highlighting the project’s significant headway.

Section-wise Progress: Breaking down the progress, key sections of the coastal road exhibit substantial completion rates:

  • Priyadarshini Park to Baroda Palace – 83.82% complete
  • Baroda Palace to Worli – Bandra Sea Link – 69.46% complete
  • Princess Street Flyover (Marine Drive) to Priyadarshini Park – 90.77% complete
