Hyderabad Horror: Tragic Warehouse Fire Claims Lives During Car Repair

Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, witnessed a devastating incident on Monday (13 November), the day after Diwali. A fire broke out in a warehouse during car repair work, claiming the lives of nine individuals who suffered severe burn injuries. The tragic event unfolded when chemicals, stored nearby, ignited and rapidly engulfed the surroundings, affecting numerous people.

Upon receiving information about the fire, multiple fire brigade vehicles promptly arrived at the scene. The intensity of the fire required significant efforts from the fire brigade personnel to bring it under control. Additionally, the rescue team worked diligently to save individuals trapped in nearby buildings. According to sources, in addition to the nine fatalities, three people sustained serious injuries and have been admitted to the hospital. A video of the incident released by news agency ANI showcases fire personnel using ladders to rescue individuals.

Providing details about the incident, DCP Venkateshwar Rao of Hyderabad Central Zone stated that the accident occurred in Bazaarghat of Nampally, Hyderabad, where a fire broke out in a warehouse situated within an apartment complex.

DG Fire Services Nagi Reddy expressed concerns about potential illegal storage of chemicals in the building. “Chemicals were stored in the stilt area (parking) of the building, and the fire broke out due to these chemicals. A total of 21 people were rescued, out of which 6 people died, while 6 people are undergoing treatment,” he mentioned. He further stated that everyone had been successfully rescued from the apartment building.
