Going Cashless: MCD Parking in Delhi Adopts Fastag Payments”

In a significant step towards modernizing its parking facilities, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is set to make all parking cashless, leveraging Fastag technology and digital payment options for two-wheelers. The move is poised to transform the parking experience for thousands of Delhi residents and visitors while contributing to a more efficient, hassle-free city.

The MCD has plans to initiate this transformation in two phases. In the first phase, 22 parking lots, consisting of both multi-storey and ground parking facilities, will be part of the cashless parking system. This revolutionary change aims to eliminate the need for physical cash and paper tickets, reduce parking fees disputes, and make the process faster and more convenient for everyone.

The first phase of the cashless parking initiative will involve 11 parking lots from each of the two clusters. For four-wheelers, the primary mode of payment will be through Fastag, while two-wheelers will have the convenience of using UPI, QR codes, and the National Mobility Card for making parking payments.

This initiative comes as a significant relief for Delhiites and visitors who have long experienced the hassle of finding exact change or waiting in long queues to pay for parking. Moreover, it will ensure that parking charges are more transparent, with no room for disputes between vehicle owners and parking contractors.

Currently, the MCD oversees a total of 400 parking lots through various contractors. These lots collectively cater to around 86,353 vehicles daily. The upcoming cashless parking system will provide a seamless parking experience at the following parking locations in Cluster-1 and Cluster-2:

Cluster-1:
