LG Approval Paves the Way: Delhi to 9 NCR Areas to Witness Traffic-Free Route with UER-II Road Project

In a significant development, LG VK Saxena has granted approval for the much-anticipated land acquisition essential for the Urban Extension Road (UER-II) project. This milestone, disclosed by government officials, marks a crucial step towards transforming the traffic landscape between North and South-West Delhi.

Critical Land Acquisition Secured:

The green signal for land acquisition in Bharthal village, South-West Delhi, arrives after a prolonged wait. With approval for acquiring two acres of land, the project aims to eliminate the traffic bottleneck by implementing an effective bypass. The delay in securing this land had resulted in a seven-year setback for the UER-II project, causing concerns and hindrances.

UER-II: An Ambitious Road Connectivity Plan:

Proposed under the UER Delhi Master Plan, the UER-II project is designed as the third ring road in Delhi. Its objective is to streamline traffic flow by connecting areas from NH-1 to NH-2, encompassing regions like Narela, Bawana, and Rohini in North Delhi to Dwarka Sub City, IGI Airport, and Gurugram. Additionally, the road is slated to link crucial national highways in Western Delhi.

Anticipated Benefits and Connectivity:

Upon completion, UER-II is expected to bring notable advantages, particularly for residents of Southern and Eastern Haryana, including Ambala, Panipat, Karnal, Rohtak, and Bahadurgarh. The enhanced road connectivity will offer more convenience for travel to Delhi, Gurugram, and extend further to Rajasthan.

Significant Delays Overcome:

The road to this accomplishment has been riddled with challenges, leading to significant delays in the project’s progress. The pivotal land acquisition in Bharthal village was initially urged by DDCA in April 2016, emphasizing its critical role in the UER-II initiative.
