Vodafone Idea Expands Network Capacity: Strengthening Connectivity Across Multiple States

In a strategic move to fortify its network capabilities, Vodafone Idea (Vi), India’s third-largest private telecom operator, has announced a significant enhancement of network capacity in Haryana. This development follows a series of network upgrades across multiple circles, including Kerala, Karnataka, and Punjab. Vi’s commitment to providing superior connectivity to millions of customers is underscored by these comprehensive enhancements.

Vi’s Network Evolution: The announcement of strengthened network capacity in Haryana marks the fourth circle in Vi’s recent network expansion initiatives. This comes in addition to significant enhancements in Kerala, Karnataka, and Punjab. The telecom giant has been proactively investing in digital infrastructure to ensure a seamless and robust network, contributing to the realization of a digital-first society.

Network Enhancements in Karnataka: Vi initiated its recent network improvements in South Karnataka on January 19, 2024. The upgrades included spectrum bandwidth enhancements in the LTE 2100 band, leading to increased network capacity across over 1000 sites. Cities like Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mandya, Kolar, and Tumkur witnessed superior network coverage, promising an elevated user experience.

Network Enhancements in Kerala: Vi’s commitment to Kerala was demonstrated with network experience enhancements announced on January 22, 2024. This initiative involved deploying 900 MHz spectrum on additional sites, shutting down the 3G network, and refarming the 2100 MHz spectrum to enhance the LTE 2100 band. With these improvements, 1.5 crore Vi users across 14 districts in Kerala are set to benefit from enhanced network quality.

Network Enhancements in Punjab: Punjab witnessed Vi’s network capacity ramp-up on February 8, 2024. Upgrades to spectrum bandwidth in the LTE 1800 band, along with refarming in the 2100 MHz and LTE 2500 Band, were implemented across 1200+ sites. Cities like Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, and Amritsar are now equipped with superior network coverage, even in congested areas.

Latest Network Enhancements in Haryana: The most recent announcement pertains to the enhancement of spectrum bandwidth in the LTE 900 MHz band from 5 MHz to 10 MHz in Haryana. Cities like Sirsa, Kurukshetra, and Shahbad are set to experience improved network coverage, contributing to a seamless digital experience for users in these regions.
