Swedish telecommunications provider Tele2 has introduced an innovative service, the “Broadband Connection Guarantee,” which marks a first in Sweden’s telecom landscape. This service is designed to ensure that Tele2 customers experience uninterrupted and stable internet connectivity, even in situations where disturbances or issues affect their fixed broadband connections.
Survey Reveals User Frustration
Tele2’s decision to launch the Broadband Connection Guarantee stems from the findings of a recent survey, which highlighted that over 62 percent of respondents encountered disruptions in their fixed broadband services in the past year. These interruptions led to considerable frustration and inconvenience for more than a third of those affected. Notably, the survey identified the loss of a broadband connection as the second most undesirable everyday situation consumers could envision.
Assuring a Stable Internet Experience
To address this issue and enhance user experience, Tele2 now offers a connection guarantee to customers who subscribe to its broadband services. The guarantee ensures that users’ routers remain connected to the internet, regardless of any disruptions, thanks to the Wireless Backup solution.
A Crucial Part of Modern Life
Tele2 recognizes that internet connectivity has become an integral part of people’s daily lives, serving various purposes such as streaming TV series, online gaming, bill payments, and communication.
Tele2’s Innovative Solution
Tele2’s solution involves providing a USB dongle and a SIM card with broadband packages 500, 600, 1000, and 1200. Users insert the SIM card into the USB dongle, which is then placed in the router. In cases of temporary issues with the fixed broadband service, the router seamlessly switches to the mobile network, ensuring uninterrupted wireless connectivity.
Affordable Add-On Service
Tele2 plans to offer this service as an add-on to all broadband subscriptions for SEK 149 per month in the near future.
Flexibility in Addressing Connectivity Challenges
Additionally, Tele2 highlights that if broadband issues stem from a power outage, customers can remove the USB dongle from the router and plug it into a laptop. The dongle is driver-free and compatible with both PCs and Macs, providing flexibility in addressing connectivity challenges.
Tele2’s introduction of the Broadband Connection Guarantee with Wireless Backup underscores its commitment to delivering a reliable and seamless internet experience for its customers, reinforcing its position as a forward-thinking telecom provider in Sweden.
