Tata Power Renewable Energy Signs Group Captive Solar Plant Agreement with ANAND Group

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a key player in India’s renewable energy sector and a subsidiary of Tata Power, has recently solidified its commitment to sustainability through a strategic partnership. The company has entered into a Group Captive Power Delivery Agreement (PDA) for a 4.4 MW AC solar plant with the ANAND Group, a globally recognized leader in the automotive systems and parts industry.

Under this groundbreaking agreement, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited will facilitate the generation of a substantial 10 million units of clean energy by harnessing renewable sources. This initiative is projected to offset around 5500 tonnes of carbon emissions on an annual basis, aligning seamlessly with the company’s mission to offer greener and cleaner energy solutions to its Commercial and Industrial (C & I) customers. By collaborating with sustainability-focused entities like the ANAND Group, Tata Power aims to establish a pioneering example that encourages other organizations to adopt eco-friendly energy solutions.

Mr. Ashish Khanna, CEO of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are pleased to support the ANAND Group as it embarks on its clean energy transformative journey. This group captive project highlights our commitment to support the automotive industry in becoming more sustainable and environmentally focused.”

The sentiment was echoed by Mr. Rajeev Gera, President – Business Development & Corporate Materials at the ANAND Group, who commented, “In the spirit of sustainable collaboration, the project marks the union of visionaries and targeted goals to develop green energy. As Tata Power Renewable and ANAND Group join hands in this group captive project, we are together setting the path—and new benchmarks—for a greener future together.”

Notably, this isn’t the first collaboration between Tata Power and the ANAND Group. The two entities previously partnered on a 10.1-MW Solar PV park power project located in Maharashtra, India. The latest Group Captive PPA further exemplifies the shared commitment of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited and the ANAND Group towards promoting renewable energy adoption. The collaboration showcases Tata Power’s expertise in innovative energy solutions and the ANAND Group’s emphasis on sustainable business practices, thus contributing to environmental conservation.

By making renewable energy accessible to multiple stakeholders in a cost-effective manner, this partnership aligns seamlessly with the government’s sustainability objectives. With this addition, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited’s total renewables capacity surges to 7,787 MW, encompassing 3,655 MW of projects in various stages of implementation and an operational capacity of 4,132 MW, consisting of 3,139 MW solar and 993 MW wind projects. This significant move not only underscores the commitment of both entities to environmental welfare but also paves the way for a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.
