One Ticket, Infinite Journeys: Air India’s Intermodal Venture with Deutsche Bahn

In a groundbreaking move, Air India, a prominent global airline, has forged an intermodal interline agreement with WorldTicket, the exclusive distributor for Deutsche Bahn, Europe’s largest railway operator. This strategic collaboration opens up seamless travel possibilities for Air India guests, allowing them to navigate across 5600 train stations in Germany with ease.

The intermodal ticketing system extends beyond Frankfurt, offering convenient train connections to and from various cities and towns across Germany. Notably, this includes locations without airports, broadening travel options for passengers. Travellers can now seamlessly connect to and from over 5600 train stations in Germany through Deutsche Bahn’s extensive network, providing unprecedented flexibility.

Additionally, Air India guests can leverage Deutsche Bahn’s train connections to and from Amsterdam, Brussels, and Zurich via Air India’s Frankfurt gateway. The partnership with WorldTicket, an IATA travel partner, and Deutsche Bahn opens up a new realm of possibilities, allowing travellers to embark on intermodal journeys with the simplicity of a single ticket.

Key Highlights of the Collaboration:

  1. Single Ticket Convenience: Travelers can seamlessly journey from Frankfurt and connect to over 5600 train stations in Germany on a single, intermodal ticket.
  2. Expanded Connectivity: Air India guests can now extend their travel beyond airports, reaching destinations that were previously challenging to access.
  3. Baggage Allowance Consistency: Enjoy the same baggage allowance on Deutsche Bahn as offered by Air India on its flights, ensuring a seamless and hassle-free travel experience.

Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial & Transformation Officer at Air India, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “While we continue to expand our own route network globally, such partnerships help us to provide an extended network to our guests, and make journeys to their final destinations more convenient.”

This collaboration comes on the heels of Air India’s recent intermodal partnership in the UK, Italy, Austria, Belgium, and the Netherlands, showcasing the airline’s commitment to offering diverse and comprehensive travel solutions.
