NTT DATA to Construct Jakarta 2 Annex Data Center in Indonesia

In response to the escalating demand for data capacity in Indonesia and to bolster the digital economy, NTT Data’s Global Data Centers division has unveiled plans to erect a Jakarta 2 Annex Data Center (JKT2A) in Indonesia, scheduled for completion in early 2026. This strategic move is part of NTT Data’s broader commitment to catering to the burgeoning needs of hyperscalers and enterprises in the region.

Expansion in Jakarta

Situated in central Jakarta, the forthcoming seven-story facility is poised to accommodate a planned capacity of 12 MW of IT load. Equipped with cutting-edge air-cooling systems, stringent physical security measures, and redundant power sources, the JKT2A campus is primed to meet the exacting requirements of its clientele.

NTT Data has underscored that the JKT2A campus boasts multiple direct fiber connections to the Jakarta 3 Data Center in Bekasi, ensuring seamless connectivity. Furthermore, the data center campus is committed to providing clients with 100 percent renewable energy options, aligning with NTT DATA’s ambitious net-zero emissions target for its operations by 2030.

“This launch marks a significant milestone in solidifying our position as a frontrunner in the Indonesian market. We are poised to expand our global data center footprint to accommodate the escalating demand,” remarked NTT Data. “Our priority is to offer our clients the agility and flexibility they need to achieve their business objectives. Consequently, we are steadfast in our commitment to delivering critical data capacity that underpins the digital economy in Indonesia.”

This endeavor marks an extension of NTT DATA’s footprint in Jakarta, complementing its existing JKT2 and JKT3 campuses. It falls within the ambit of NTT DATA’s substantial investment of over USD 10 billion in data center expansion slated for 2023-2027 in key markets worldwide.

Global Data Center Growth

NTT’s Global Data Centers presently operate more than 17 data centers across seven countries in the Asia-Pacific region, boasting a critical IT load exceeding 278 MW, with over 60 MW earmarked for expansion. Notably, it stands as the second-largest data center provider in Jakarta.

“The inauguration of the Jakarta 2 Annex Data Center represents a pivotal stride in addressing the burgeoning needs of our clientele as they embark on deploying next-generation AI solutions and fostering interconnectivity across the region,” affirmed NTT DATA and PT NTT Indonesia.

“With the advent of this new data center capacity, we are not only addressing immediate requirements but also laying the groundwork for future technological advancements and innovation. This initiative resonates with our steadfast commitment to bolster robust digitalization in Indonesia, bolstering economic growth, innovation, and connectivity.”

By embarking on the construction of the Jakarta 2 Annex Data Center, NTT Data is not only meeting the pressing needs of the Indonesian market but is also positioning itself as a pivotal enabler of digital transformation and economic progress in the region.
