Maruti Suzuki Boosts Production Capacity at Manesar Plant by 100,000 Units Annually

Expansion Aims to Meet Growing Customer Demand and Enhance Manufacturing Capability

Maruti Suzuki India has announced a significant expansion of its production capacity at the Manesar facility, adding one lakh units per annum to meet escalating customer demand and bolster manufacturing capabilities.

The renowned auto manufacturer has introduced a new vehicle assembly line to the existing Plant-A at the Manesar site in Haryana. This strategic move aims to augment production capabilities and expedite the delivery process for customers, reinforcing Maruti Suzuki’s commitment to delivering quality vehicles in a timely manner.

According to a statement by Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), the newly installed assembly line is equipped to manufacture 100,000 units annually. With this addition, the total manufacturing capacity at the Manesar facility now stands at an impressive 900,000 vehicles per annum.

MSI’s Managing Director & CEO, Hisashi Takeuchi, expressed the company’s ambitious vision for the future, stating, “We aim to nearly double our capacity to 4 million vehicles per annum over the next 7-8 years, and this capacity addition of 100,000 vehicles per year is a step towards this goal.” Takeuchi emphasized that the expansion will not only facilitate faster service for customers but also enhance the overall manufacturing capability, enabling the production of up to 2.35 million units per annum.

The Manesar facility, inaugurated by the company in February 2007 with the establishment of Plant A, has witnessed steady growth in response to rising demand. Over the years, Maruti Suzuki has expanded its manufacturing footprint at Manesar by adding Plant B in 2011 and Plant C in 2013. The facility plays a pivotal role in the production of various popular models, including Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, Wagon R, Dzire, S-Presso, Ciaz, and Celerio.
