MakeMyTrip Launches Innovative Travel Map to Uncover India’s Hidden Treasures

In a bid to promote tourism in lesser-explored destinations, MakeMyTrip has introduced the Traveller’s Map of India. This dynamic initiative, developed in partnership with the Tourism Ministry, serves as an extension of the government’s DekhoApnaDesh program. The map, designed as an interactive platform, enables travelers to embark on a journey through over 600 offbeat destinations that lie beyond India’s conventional travel routes.

Affirming its alignment with the ‘DekhoApnaDesh’ initiative, MakeMyTrip expressed in a statement, “This thoughtfully curated microsite reflects the visionary program of the Government of India.” Leveraging extensive data from India’s travel search trends and insights from millions of users, the platform will shine a spotlight on destinations that have remained undiscovered by the masses. These captivating locales will be categorized into themes such as adventure, wildlife, heritage, mountains, and beaches, offering travelers a chance to tailor their experiences according to their interests.

Rajesh Magow, co-founder and Group CEO of MakeMyTrip, underlined the significance of this initiative, particularly in light of Independence Day. “The Traveller’s Map celebrates the diverse voices of Indian travelers and our rich tapestry of cultural, historic, and natural wonders,” Magow affirmed. He expressed his confidence that this endeavor will play a pivotal role in solidifying India’s stature as a premier global tourism hub.

The Traveller’s Map not only provides an engaging and immersive experience but also empowers users to virtually explore India’s lesser-known destinations. Through this platform, travelers can chart their own paths, uncover unique experiences, and contribute to the growth of tourism in unexplored corners of the nation.

Union Tourism Minister, Kishan Reddy, commended MakeMyTrip’s initiative and expressed optimism for more endeavors that showcase India’s diverse beauty on an international platform.
