Mahindra Aerostructures and Airbus Deepen Ties with New Contract for Metallic Components

In a significant move to fortify their longstanding partnership, Mahindra Aerostructures Pvt Ltd (MASPL) and Airbus Aerostructures GmbH have inked a new contract for the manufacturing and supply of metallic components. This agreement encompasses all Airbus commercial aircraft models, including the widely acclaimed A320 family, further solidifying MASPL’s role in Airbus’s global supply chain.

Under the terms of the contract, MASPL is set to deliver a comprehensive range of nearly 5000 metallic components to Airbus in Germany. These components will be manufactured at MASPL’s state-of-the-art facility in India, showcasing the company’s commitment to contributing to the ‘Make In India’ initiative promoted by the Government of India.

Commenting on this development, Mr. Vinod Sahay, President of Aerospace & Defence and CPO of Auto & Farm Sectors at Mahindra, emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating, “Through this new contract, we not only strengthen our relationship but also enhance our contribution to the ‘Make In India’ initiative by the Government of India. We are committed to fulfilling our obligations and advancing this collaborative journey of growth.”

Mr. Arvind Mehra, Managing Director & CEO of Mahindra Aerostructures, expressed gratitude for Airbus’s ongoing support and highlighted the importance of this contract in expanding their Airbus portfolio. He stated, “Being an Airbus supplier is a privilege for MASPL, and we value their continued endorsement of our growth endeavors. This award signifies a notable expansion of our partnership with Airbus, presenting additional opportunities for collaboration on performance, sustainability, and operational excellence.”

Having been a direct supplier to Airbus Group since 2015, MASPL has consistently demonstrated its capabilities in various initiatives. The company’s achievements include recognition as a D2P “Challenger” for three consecutive years in the Sheet Metal domain and achieving level “A” in the Airbus Industrial Process Capability Assessment (IPCA+). MASPL was also honored with the “Best Performer” award in the 2023 Airbus Supplier Quality Improvement Program (SQIP) awards. This latest contract further solidifies MASPL’s position as a key contributor to Airbus’s supply chain, emphasizing its unwavering commitment to excellence in aerospace manufacturing.
