In a recent tweet on Thursday, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) acknowledged a temporary disruption in its E-ticket booking services, citing technical reasons. Although the exact nature of the technical issue remains undisclosed, IRCTC assured users that the matter has been resolved, and E-ticket booking services resumed at 13:55 hrs on the same day.

Navigating through the IRCTC website to book a train ticket can be a breeze if you follow these simple steps:

  1. Log In: Begin by logging in to your IRCTC account using your user ID and password.
  2. Enter Details: Specify your origin and destination stations along with your preferred class for travel.
  3. Flexibility Option: If your travel date is not fixed, choose the ‘Flexible with Date’ option.
  4. Train Selection: A list of available trains on the selected route will appear on the next page.
  5. Class Selection: Click on the type of class available for the train you wish to travel on.
  6. Check Availability: To inquire about availability and fare, click on the ‘Check availability and fare’ tab.
  7. Finalize Booking: Once you’ve selected your preferred train, click on ‘Book now.’
  8. Review Details: Verify the train name, station names, class, and date of the journey displayed on the left side of the page.

Additionally, for those keeping an eye on IRCTC’s financial performance, as of 13:23 on Thursday, the stock of IRCTC was trading flat at Rs 700.10.
