Involta Rebrands as Ark Data Centers Amidst AI-Driven Demand Surge

In response to the increasing demand for edge data centers and cloud infrastructure driven by the AI revolution, US colocation firm Involta has rebranded itself as Ark Data Centers. This strategic move, announced this week, reflects the company’s commitment to expanding its offerings in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.

Continued Commitment to Edge and Cloud Facilities

Ark Data Centers will maintain its focus on providing top-notch edge, colocation, and cloud facilities under the new brand name. This rebranding is part of a broader strategy to position the company as a leader in scalable infrastructure solutions needed to support the growing demands of AI and other advanced technologies.

Infrastructure Expansion Plans

Ark Data Centers is set to embark on several significant expansion projects to address the critical need for scalable infrastructure. The company plans to invest heavily in enhancing its existing locations to bolster enterprise and hyperscale edge capacity. These expansions will support the increasing requirements for data center, cloud, and network interconnection services.

“The decision to relaunch as Ark was driven by the insatiable growth of infrastructure requirements for space, power, and compute options,” the company stated. To better reflect this evolution, Ark Data Centers also unveiled a new website, arkdna, highlighting the core elements of their business: Data center infrastructure (D), Network infrastructure (N), and the company’s response to the surge of AI and automation (A).

Recent and Upcoming Projects

The rebranding follows the completion of Involta’s acquisition by Carlyle in February 2022. In December 2023, the company announced the expansion of its Tucson, Arizona data center to a capacity of 1 MW. Additionally, Ark Data Centers has recently entered the Green Bay, Wisconsin market, with plans to expand the existing campus by up to 20 MW of IT capacity.

Ark’s roadmap includes several upcoming projects in emerging edge markets, which will be announced soon. These initiatives are part of the company’s growth plan to meet the escalating infrastructure needs of the digital economy.

Strategic Vision and Future Growth

“Ark will continue to address the critical need for scalable infrastructure by investing in expanding its existing locations to support enterprise and hyperscale edge capacity needed for data center, cloud, and network interconnection,” the official release noted. This strategic vision positions Ark Data Centers to leverage its enhanced capabilities and resources, ensuring it remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
