IndusInd Bank Empowers Maharashtra Community with Solar Panel Installation at Sane Guruji Arogya Kendra, Pune

IndusInd Bank has taken a significant step towards promoting community welfare and environmental sustainability in Maharashtra. As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program called ‘Institutions on Solar’, the bank has successfully installed rooftop grid-connected solar panels at Maharashtra Arogya Mandal’s Sane Guruji Arogya Kendra in Pune.

The installation of a large-scale grid solar Photovoltaic system with a capacity of 100 kW will generate approximately 140,000 units of electricity annually. This initiative will not only help in reducing carbon emissions by over 113 Metric Tonnes but also enable the hospital to save on expenses. The funds saved will be utilized by the hospital to enhance community activities, purchase equipment, and provide training to their staff.

IndusInd Bank’s ‘Institutions on Solar’ CSR program aims to support the transition to a low-carbon economy and promote sustainable development practices. With this initiative, the bank has successfully installed a total of 823 kW solar systems at 20 different sites across Maharashtra.

The inauguration of the solar panel installation was attended by senior officials from IndusInd Bank, trustees, senior officials from the hospital, and the implementing partner CERE (Center for Environmental Research and Education).

Roopa Satish, Head of Sustainable Banking and CSR at IndusInd Bank, expressed her thoughts on the achievement. She stated, “At IndusInd Bank, we believe in our responsibility beyond the financial ecosystem. Our commitment extends to uplifting the economy, society, and the environment in equal measures. The installation of solar panels at Maharashtra Arogya Mandal’s Sane Guruji Arogya Kendra in Pune showcases our dedication to helping the hospital significantly reduce its carbon footprint while supporting patients in need. We consider it an honor to contribute and be a preferred partner for such noble causes and will continue to do so in the future.”
