IndiGo’s Fare Reset: Fuel Charges Removed in Response to ATF Price Reduction

In a significant move, IndiGo, the renowned budget carrier, has announced the removal of fuel charges on its domestic and international routes. This decision comes in the wake of a recent reduction in Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices, bringing relief to travelers who had experienced an imposition of these charges in October 2023.

The airlines’ spokesperson stated, “With the recent reduction in ATF prices, IndiGo is withdrawing the charge.” This move aligns with IndiGo’s commitment to providing affordable, on-time, courteous, and hassle-free travel for its customers.

Given the dynamic nature of ATF prices, the airline assures passengers that it will continue to adjust fares and components in response to any changes in prices or market conditions. IndiGo’s dedication to delivering a seamless travel experience remains steadfast.

Previously, after the introduction of the fuel charge in October last year, the rates were structured based on distance. For flights up to 500 km, the charge was Rs 300, while for distances ranging from 501 to 1000 km, it stood at Rs 400. The charges increased incrementally for longer distances: Rs 550 for 1001-1500 km, Rs 650 for 1501-2500 km, Rs 800 for 2501-3500 km, and Rs 1000 for distances exceeding 3501 km.
