IKEA India Expects Double-Digit Growth, Set to Unveil Festive Collection

IKEA India is gearing up for a bustling festive season with a Diwali collection that comprises more than 100 dedicated items. The Swedish furniture giant anticipates double-digit growth in sales compared to the previous year, aligning with the growing demand for its exclusive festive offerings.

Elena Pogosova, IKEA India’s Country Commercial Manager, expressed optimism about the upcoming festival season, saying, “We are targeting double-digit growth over last year’s (festival season), and I would say this is a fair assumption, considering that these collections are very popular with our customers.”

IKEA India’s Diwali collection is a result of meticulous curation that evolves year-on-year, adapting to market trends and customer preferences. The extensive collection includes an array of items designed to enhance the festive spirit, spanning from traditional festival items like tea lights and lanterns to home textiles and decorations.

As the festive season approaches, IKEA India not only sees an increase in the demand for festival-specific products but also for home textiles and furniture, as customers often choose this time to refresh their living spaces.

In addition to the Diwali collection, IKEA India is also making changes to its food menu by incorporating more locally relevant products, tailoring the offerings to the specific location of each store. This initiative enhances the dining experience by including regional delicacies, thus allowing customers to savor familiar flavors. For example, biryani is on the menu in Hyderabad, and southern delicacies are featured in Bengaluru.

Pogosova noted that IKEA India has observed a surge in online sales, with approximately 30 percent of the company’s total sales occurring through the online channel. This shift highlights the changing dynamics of consumer shopping preferences and the brand’s adaptability to evolving market trends.
