A source from Ford India revealed, “We continue to explore alternatives for our manufacturing facility in Chennai,” signaling a shift from the previously planned exit strategy. The company might leverage the plant for manufacturing and exporting vehicles from India to international markets, hinting at a potential comeback with a new portfolio of cars.
The failed deal with JSW Group, which aimed to enter the electric vehicle (EV) segment, prompted Ford India to reassess its options for the Chennai facility.
