Breath AI: Revolutionizing Health Monitoring with Wearable Tech

Pune: In a transformative leap towards holistic health monitoring, Sanjay Phadke and his team at Virtual Sense Global Technologies have introduced Breath AI, a cutting-edge tech platform that includes a wrist wearable with sensors to track breath composition, heart rate variability, and other vital biomarkers. The platform’s goal is to offer a complete overview of an individual’s health status and provide personalized breath-work strategies to enhance well-being. Breath AI has forged partnerships with institutions like Kaivalyadhama, IISER, IIT Bombay, Harvard Medical School, and Monash University for extensive research and trials. The company now eyes global expansion into markets such as Australia, Japan, Europe, and the US.

A personal mid-air health scare served as the catalyst for Phadke’s journey into the core of health monitoring. Faced with uneasiness at 40,000 feet, he applied yogic breathing techniques to stabilize his condition, prompting the inception of Breath AI. The wearable, equipped with an array of sensors, provides real-time data on breath composition, heart rate variability, and other biomarkers, offering users a comprehensive understanding of their health.

Banker-turned-Technologist:

A mechanical engineer turned banker, Phadke transitioned to technology, integration, and humanities research. His journey led to the creation of Virtual Sense Global Technologies in 2016, where initial ideas evolved from fragrance-based innovations to a breath analyzer for diabetes. The pivot towards wearable technology culminated in the development of Breath AI over three years.

Preventive Health and Wearable Market:

As the preventive health and wearable device market expands, Breath AI aims to contribute to continuous health monitoring. The wearable market in India, estimated at ₹58,000 crore, is expected to double by 2028. With an anticipated 23% increase in mental health issues, Breath AI positions itself as a solution with personalized breath-work approaches and a recommendation engine tailored to individual needs.

The Science of Breath and HRV:

Breath AI focuses on two essential components – breath and heart rate variability (HRV). By leveraging precise statistics from sensors, the wearable analyzes data to facilitate a shift from a stressed state to a calm one. Breath, as a dial, becomes the means to tune the body’s state, supported by the intricate relationship between the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.

Partnerships and Expansion Plans:

Breath AI has collaborated with renowned institutions for research and trials, including Kaivalyadhama, IISER, IIT Bombay, Harvard Medical School, and Monash University. The company is also in discussions with Australian regulatory authorities for market entry, with plans to expand further into Japan, Europe, and the US. Additionally, Breath AI aims to offer subscription services to third-party coaches, providing a comprehensive health monitoring and improvement system.

As Breath AI paves the way for a new era in wearable health technology, it signifies a paradigm shift towards proactive and personalized health management.
