In a significant development, Bonfiglioli Transmissions Pvt Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of the globally acclaimed Bonfiglioli Riduttori S.p.A., has inaugurated its state-of-the-art assembly facility in Pune, marking an investment of 100 crores. The 42,500 sq. meters facility, operational from 29th November 2023, promises high-tech, smart assembly operations in an eco-friendly and people-friendly environment.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed customers, partners, government authorities, leadership teams, and dedicated company employees. The new facility, powered by almost 80% solar energy, aims to enhance the company’s market serviceability in the western region, catering to over 20 verticals in the discrete manufacturing and process sector. Bonfiglioli Transmissions also anticipates offering a diverse range of customized products, reducing lead time and ensuring swift delivery timelines due to increased proximity.
Mr. Kennady V. Kaippally, Country Manager of Bonfiglioli India, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting industrial development in India. He stated, “The western region represents a high-growth market, and we are expanding our assembly facility in Pune to meet the needs of the evolving market. The new facility has the highest standards of quality and safety, consistent with other Bonfiglioli locations worldwide. It is a hi-tech, real-time smart assembly facility that will help us introduce a wide range of products to 20-odd verticals.”
With the commencement of the new facility, Bonfiglioli Transmissions has expanded its team size, hiring more skilled staff and technicians. The company, operating in India since 1998, boasts three production facilities: two in Chennai and one in Pune. As a market leader in gear motors, drive systems, planetary gearboxes, and inverters, Bonfiglioli has a production capacity of over 3,50,000 units of gearboxes and gear motors. Its turnover for the 2022-2023 financial year is INR 1,428 crores and is projected to close at 1,650 crores for the year 2023-2024.
