According to Gurman’s revelations, Apple is poised to revolutionize its entire MacBook lineup with the introduction of the M4 processors. Production of these cutting-edge chipsets is already underway, with a primary focus on enhancing AI-based capabilities.
The M4 processors, slated to come in three variants named Donan, Brava, and Hidra, are expected to power a wide array of Mac devices, including the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, Mac Mini, and possibly even the Mac Studio and Mac Pro.
A Timeline of Expectations
Gurman’s insights suggest a comprehensive roadmap for Apple’s M4-powered devices. From a low-end 14-inch MacBook Pro to higher-powered models, a new 24-inch iMac, and revamped Mac minis, the M4 processors promise a significant performance boost compared to their M3 predecessors.
Moreover, prospective buyers can anticipate the arrival of M4-powered 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models from spring to late 2025. The lineup may also feature a Mac Studio equipped with a high-end M4 chipset and a Mac Pro boasting the formidable M4 Ultra processor.
Deciphering the Code-names and Configurations
