Apple Stores May Offer Home Delivery for In-Store Purchases: Here’s What We Know

Apple is gearing up to launch a new program that promises to enhance shopping convenience for its customers. The program, aptly named “EasyPay Online Ordering,” will allow customers to make purchases in-store and have their products delivered straight to their home or office. This exciting development was revealed by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his recent Power On newsletter.

Starting from August, Apple store visitors will have the option to choose home delivery when making a purchase. Once a product is bought, it will be promptly dispatched to the customer’s desired location in just a few days, thanks to Apple’s EasyPay point-of-sale machines.

The primary goal behind “EasyPay Online Ordering” is to ensure that all customers leave the store with exactly what they came for. The new program offers a seamless shopping experience by giving buyers the choice of different fulfillment methods, including shipping or personalized product delivery. This memo from Apple, as disclosed by Gurman, underscores the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction and convenience.

The initiative is a win-win situation for both Apple stores and customers alike. Stores can still make the sale even if a specific device is not available on-site, and customers, especially those purchasing larger items like iMacs or Mac Pros, will no longer need to worry about carrying their purchases as they can easily opt for home delivery.

Currently, if a customer wants a product delivered from an Apple Store, they either have to place an online order using a store’s demo iPad or Mac, or ask an Apple Store employee to process the order using their EasyPay device. With the upcoming EasyPay Online Ordering program, this process will be streamlined, making it more convenient and efficient for customers.

Moreover, Apple is facing stiff competition from online retailers such as Amazon and Flipkart. By introducing this new program, Apple can gain an advantage over these online giants and provide a seamless buying experience for customers who live far away from physical Apple Stores. Additionally, the program could help Apple optimize its store inventory, reducing the need to maintain excessive stock levels.

Gurman suggests that the EasyPay Online Ordering program may also pave the way for home delivery of Vision Pro, Apple’s highly anticipated mixed reality headset. Given the product’s numerous combinations of headbands, light seals, and prescription lens inserts, offering home delivery through this program could be a game-changer.
