Adani Energy Solutions Receives Global Sustainability Leadership Award 2023

Adani Energy Solutions, India’s largest private transmission and distribution company, has been awarded the prestigious ‘Global Sustainability Leadership Award 2023’ in the ‘Best Overall Sustainable Performance’ category by the World Sustainability Congress in Mauritius. The recognition highlights the company’s unwavering commitment to sustainable practices and its significant contributions to a greener future, positioning itself as a leading innovator in the power sector.

The Global Sustainability Leadership Award is bestowed annually upon organizations that showcase exceptional leadership in sustainability. The award committee acknowledged Adani Energy Solutions for its innovative solutions, dedication to reducing environmental impact, and promotion of sustainable practices.

Anil Sardana, Managing Director of Adani Energy Solutions, expressed gratitude for the honour, stating, “We are honoured to receive this prestigious award. This recognition validates our efforts in driving sustainability and motivates us to continue our work towards a greener and more sustainable future.”

In a recent development, Adani Energy Solutions Limited secured the letter of intent for the acquisition of Halvad Transmission Ltd from PFC Consulting Limited. The special-purpose vehicle, Halvad Transmission Ltd, was established by PFCCL to evacuate 7 gigawatts of renewable energy from the Khavda renewable energy park.

Adani Energy Solutions plans to commission the Halvad transmission line, a crucial part of the national grid, in 24 months on a BOOM (Build, Own, Operate, and Maintain) basis. The transmission project, spanning over 301 km, will facilitate the evacuation of 7 gigawatts of renewable energy, connecting Khavda to Halvad in Gujarat. The project, requiring an investment of around Rs 3,000 crore, will be operated and maintained by AESL for 35 years.

Adani Energy Solutions holds the position of the country’s largest private transmission company, with a presence in 16 states and a cumulative transmission network of 20,518 ckm and 53,161 MVA transformation capacity. In the distribution sector, AESL serves over 12 million consumers in metropolitan Mumbai and the industrial hub of Mundra SEZ.
