Xiaomi Revolutionizes the Road: Unveils SU7 Electric Car Competing with Porsche and Tesla

In a game-changing move, Xiaomi, the Chinese electronics and technology giant, has stepped into the Electric Vehicle (EV) market with the launch of its debut electric car, the SU7. Described by Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun as a “dream car compared to Porsche and Tesla,” the electric sedan is set to make waves in the industry.

Features and Specifications

The Xiaomi SU7 boasts LED-based autonomous driving features such as self-parking and adaptive cruise control, running on the brand’s innovative HyperOS operating system. With dimensions of 4,997 mm in length, 1,963 mm in width, and 1,440/1,455 mm in height, along with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm, the car is available in three vibrant paint schemes – Aqua Blue, Mineral Grey, and Verdant Green.

Battery Options and Performance

The SU7 offers two battery options – a 73.6kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery and a 101kWh CTB (Cell to Body) battery pack, providing an estimated range of up to 800 km. Xiaomi also has plans to introduce a new V8 variant in the future, equipped with a larger 150kWh battery pack.

Powertrain Options

The electric sedan presents two powertrain options – single motor and dual motor. The single motor variant, featuring a rear-wheel drive system, achieves a top speed of 210 kmph. On the other hand, the dual motor variant, equipped with an all-wheel drive system, reaches a maximum speed of 265 kmph and accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in an impressive 2.78 seconds.

Xiaomi’s foray into the electric car market with the SU7 signals a disruptive force, challenging established players with a blend of affordability, cutting-edge technology, and remarkable range. As the company expands its electric vehicle offerings, the road ahead promises an exciting journey for both Xiaomi and electric car enthusiasts.
