This game-changing integration sets Volkswagen apart as the first volume manufacturer to adopt such advanced conversational AI technology, with plans to roll out the feature starting in the second quarter of 2024.
ChatGPT Integration Across Volkswagen Models
Volkswagen’s commitment to innovation is evident as it introduces ChatGPT integration across a diverse range of models, including the ID.7, ID.4, ID.5, ID.3, the all-new Tiguan, the all-new Passat, and the new Golf. These models will showcase the latest generation of infotainment systems, elevating the overall driving and passenger experience.
Seamless Interactions with ChatGPT
The core of this technological leap lies in the capabilities of the IDA voice assistant, powered by Cerence Chat Pro. Beyond conventional voice controls, drivers can leverage IDA to seamlessly manage infotainment, navigation, and air conditioning systems. Furthermore, the integration opens doors to intuitive interactions, allowing users to pose general knowledge queries during their journeys.

Activation Simplicity and Data Security
Activating the voice assistant is designed for utmost simplicity, requiring no additional account setup or app installations. A straightforward “Hello IDA” or a press of a button on the steering wheel initiates the seamless interaction. Volkswagen places paramount importance on data security, ensuring that ChatGPT does not access vehicle data, and all interactions are promptly deleted after use.
