The MBCCR has consistently stood out as one of the world’s most prestigious classic car rallies since its inception in 2014. This year’s edition will showcase a dazzling array of classic Mercedes-Benz vehicles, including the legendary 300SL roadster, the sole of its kind in the country. The rally will also witness every generation of the SL, adorned with facelift variants, creating a rolling museum of automotive heritage. Among the anticipated debutants is the opulent Grand Mercedes-Benz 600 ‘Grosser,’ promising a visual feast for attendees.
Landmarks and Legends: Mumbai as the Backdrop
Set against the backdrop of Mumbai’s iconic landmarks, the MBCCR promises a visual spectacle as classic cars weave through the city’s streets. Deemed a “landmark year” by Perseus Bandrawalla, the curator of MBCCR, this edition will feature 75 cars spanning 72 different models, with almost 50% making their debut or gracing the event after extensive restoration.

To commemorate this milestone, a charity auction is introduced, featuring a classic Mercedes-Benz from the ’60s, ’70s, or ’80s, with Mercedes-Benz India committing a charity donation matching the winning bid. The auction is expected to set a world-record matching price for the W123.

A gala dinner on the night of December 2 will be followed by a tribute performance by one of India’s finest music bands. The eligibility criteria for this year’s MBCCR include all Mercedes-Benz passenger cars produced up to 2002, along with specific models produced until the end of their life-cycle.
